Antler Hammer Canes

Antler Hammer Canes

Royal's antler hammer canes are a nod to the English fox hunts of yesteryear. The hook was traditionally used to open gates if one was unable or unwilling to jump them, and the lash was to keep the hounds away from your horse's legs. Some hammers were even made of steel to allow the rider to reattach a shoe should one be lost in the field!

Today we have much fancier apparel to reflect our Australian Show Hunter classes, the canes much more detailed and ornate in their design, and the lash shortened to a keeper to meet our show societies' whip regulations.
